Virtual Meeting - April 2022

 Welcome to April.

I don't know how your March went, but this sums up mine.

Did you ever have a project where you think you have all your supplies, then discover you don't have the right colour thread, you get the threat and discover you don't have enough of one fabric, because you read the pattern wrong. Please don't tell me that is just me.

(If you like the label, you can get them at various stores. I ordered mine on line but Mimi's Fabrics in Kanata has them.)

With hopes of nicer weather, let's look at some member projects from March.

Anita has been as busy as ever.  She used a picture of her Granddaughter Junie and friend James as the inspiration for a growth chart.

Anita has also been using up her scraps, making placemats.

Carol McFee sent a picture of her Starlight Serenade on the quilt frame as she works on getting it quilted. Isn't it nice to see a WIP?

Jan Pound says she bought this paper piecing kit in Victoria, 15 years ago. It is now finished!

It is called "Signs of Spring".

Jan also participated in a Virtual Retreat. She made some luggage tags that keep your identity private but make it easy to recognize your bag.

I think Jan has some travel plans for this summer, because she also made some Sweetpea Pods which she thinks would be great for taking jewelry or binding clips when you travel.

I, of course, have been making bags, complete with swear words.

I made my daughter in law a Boronia Bowler Bag.

The bottom and straps are cork fabric.

It has nice big pockets inside.

While I was waiting for my extra supplies to arrive, I saw a video for a quick makeup bag with two pockets.

Since it used half of the fat quarter, I had to make 2.

I added a magnetic snap between the layers to help the second one stand up better.

I lined them both with PUL fabric to make them more spill proof. The fabric matches the purse and one of the pouches was tucked inside the bag.

I hope you enjoyed this month's pictures. Our next show and tell is May 2. I hope we nwill have some more spring projects then.
