Christmas Show and Tell - December 7

I think this is an appropriate start to our Christmas Show and Tell.  This is Leslie's Jim Shore Nativity Set. All of the figures have quilted clothing.

We have lots of pictures today, so get a coffee and a couple of Christmas cookies and enjoy!

First up is Anita. She says there is nothing new in these items.

Next is Barb Karim.

Carole Kennedy made stockings for her youngest grandchildren.

This is a wall hanging she made a few years ago.

Christine Welsh made this for her grandchildren in England.

Diane Hart made a Christmas tree wall hanging.

Doreen chose her two favourite Christmas pieces.

Helen made placemats to give to two of her neighbours.

Janice Pound made a quilty for the Queensway Carleton.

And an advent calendar for her granddaughter.

Joy made a quilt based on a pattern that Barb Karim had shown earlier. It was quilted by Krista and is a Christmas gift.

Joy has this lovely table centre on her coffee table. She says no one is allowed chips and salsa while it is on the table.

Kate (that's me) has made two wall hangings designed by Dilys Fronks.

I tried to get my tree skirt finished in time for Christmas, multiple years, then decided that tree skirts are a good project for February. It is now finished!

Leslie made this stained glass wall hanging and it hangs in her church at Christmas.

This is her Starry Night wall hanging.

Christmas Cardinal pillows with Frosty keeping guard.

Liz has a couple of gift quilts. The first is for her granddaughter in Montreal.

Her daughter requested a lap quilt for keeping warm while working.

Liz finished this Christmas bag just before the deadline for pictures.

Lynda Smyth sent a picture of her Christmas "Floral" Log Cabin.

Marilyn has Wise Men, that she based on a Christmas card design.

Poinsettias.

And a puzzle quilt in Reds and Greens.

MaryAnn is planning a socially distanced gift exchange, outdoors.

She made this cozy flannel blanket for indoors.

Pat Nyenhuis made her tree skirt a few years ago.

She made this quilt for her grandson, for Christmas and is giving him giant checkers to go with it.

Shirley Lambert calls this quilt "Patches of Blue".

This is Woodland Christmas.

Susan Noad send a selection of her festive works.

There you have it. Forty-four festive pictures to get you into the spirit of the season. In this, a very different and difficult holiday season at the end of a different and difficult year, I hope you are all safe, warm, and can enjoy visits with family and friends, even if it is over Zoom or Skype.

Virtual Meeting - November 16

This is our sixteenth virtual meeting. I am glad to see people still sewing away. I have been finishing some bindings, so I don't actually have a finish to show. However, a few other people do.

Barb Karim made this quilt for her grandson, and says she finished it about 10 years ago. She says that pattern had the soldiers holding weapons, but Barb changed them to musical instruments.

Don't forget that clicking on the picture will make it larger, if you want to see the detail.

Diane Hart promised herself she would have this wall hanging done for November, and she succeeded.

Diane got these fabrics as scraps from a quilt her sister made. She looked for a block that used small triangles and made this.

Lynda Smith has a finished her vintage Santas and she says it only took her 14 years. There is hope for my UFO's!

She is looking forward to using it in her home this Christmas.

Shirley Lambert also finished a Christmas quilt.

Shirley made a reversible zippered jacket from a sweatshirt, for her little cousin in NB.

And the other side.

I think Sara is going to be the next supermodel.

Next time, we will have our Christmas Show and Tell. Show us how you decorate with quilted items, or give us a picture of your Christmas tree. I know you don't all have decorations like mine, so I want to see them. (For those of you who don't know, I foster cats and kittens. This was one from a few years ago.)

Mark your calendar for Dec. 7, and I'll try to get the reminder out a bit early next time.
