Show and Tell - June 2024

Despite the heat, many of our members have been sewing away, getting things done.

Because Canada Day is this weekend, I think we should open with Lynda Smyth's Canada Day Quilt.

Lynda made this quilt in 2017 to celebrate Canada 150. She used the 365 day challenge blocks, colouring the backgrounds to make the leaf.

Anita has finished a wedding quilt for her son and his fiancée. She says she even has the label done.

Anita's granddaughter, June, is showing off her first quilt. She selected all the fabrics, herself.

Carol has a Spring wall hanging, hand embroidered and appliqued, of course.

Judy has completed another quilt top. I wonder if she has used all of her greens in this.

Judy's Mom, Marion, a long time Poole Creek member, is still crafting away.

Last time, I showed a bag that was a test bag for one I was making for a young man. The new bag is now finished. The bag is in waxed canvas and waterproof nylon pack cloth. Quite a change from sewing cottons. (The new one is in boring navy.)

Susan Schmidt received a gift of  3 boxes of fabric, from the husband of a quilting friend. Susan's friend, Cheryl,  passed away last fall. Susan has been busy sewing up the fabric. She has added her friend's name to a couple of blocks in each quilt.

Enjoy your Canada Day!
