Virtual Meeting - April 20

Welcome to the second virtual meeting of the Poole Creek Quilters. I hope you have your coffee ready, because there is a lot of gorgeous Show and Tell.

First, our quote for the day:

Blessed are the children (and grandchildren) of the piecemakers, for they shall inherit quilts.

If you are finding that the isolation is dampening your creative spirit, I have a video suggestion. I saw a YouTube video this week, that gives you some activities to help you look at your stash in some new ways. So grab some fat quarters, and have some fun.

Now, on to the pictures!

First up, Anita will be ready for Christmas.

She says she started with one folded hot pad kit, and ended up with 21 hot pads. She has used up a bunch of 4" squares.

Then she switched to her strips.

Barb Karim sends us a picture of Elephants on Parade.

Beth van Wyngaarten decided to entertain her neighbours with a quilt show.

She got the idea from some other quilters on Facebook.

Doris helped her grandson, Ethan, make this quilt for his dad.

Helen Anderson has two quilts she is finishing.

Joy Melsness finished the mystery quilt for the Kanata Guild that was designed by Krista.

And this cute baby quilt, for a little one with grey and pink Minnie Mouse sheets.

Next is Kate. I couldn't help myself, I just had to make a new bag.

The pattern is called Carol, from Sincerely Jen. The cell phone is to give an idea of the size.

Liz finished her version of the CQA Mystery Quilt from last year.

Nicole finished another top for Victoria's Quilts.

Finally, Pauline has started work on a Mystery Quilt, not sure which one.

Our sewing machines are really humming along, aren't they!

That is it for this week. I hope you all stay safe at home, and stay warm. Does anyone know when it plans to stop snowing? Mother's Day, maybe?

Kate

I would like to thank everyone for the contributions. A huge thanks and appreciation goes out to Kate for suggesting this Show and Tell format and putting it together for us! Congratulations on a job well done! 😊

I loved seeing everyone’s projects!
Would Anita be willing to share the pattern for the hotpads or a tutorial?
Thanks!
