Welcome back. I hope you are all enjoying our summer weather.
Anita reports that Sew For It in Bells Corners is closing this fall, with Ed and Betty finally retiring. If you need anything, or just want to wish them well, drop in soon.
Our members are still working away, creating beautiful things.
First up is Anita. While she is recovering from surgery, she has been doing some cross stitch.
Christine Welsh welcomed another grandchild, last week, this one a grandson. She made him this quilt and quilted it using ideas from the book Walk.
Helen Anderson made this quilt and eventually presented it to the Royal Matron of the Order of Amaranth for Washington, as a gift from Canada.
The borders have the provincial flowers embroidered on the dark squares.
Janice Pound finished a UFO called Stitch Happens. It was quilted by Krista and has Tula Pink Sewing Machine fabric on the back.
Janice also made a Mini Maker Case in a workshop with the Kanata Guild. It is intended to be used with a mini iron, and she made it to match a portfolio made from a By Annie pattern called Zip It Up.

Kate (that's me) finally finished my Pony Express bag. The bag pattern is based on a classic Dior bag. The pattern is from Ujamaa Bagettes and the proceeds from the pattern go to the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
The Dior bag uses more conservative fabric.
Nicole is busy making quilts for Victoria's Quilts.
Pat Nyenhuis made this quilt from a kit from Connecting Threads. She says she doesn't normally buy kits but she really enjoyed making this one. It was quilted by Krista.
