The Poole Creek website has a phone number for information, and the number is mine. I seldom get phone calls about Poole Creek, so I was surprised to receive one the other night.
The members of Poole Creek made this quilt for Joanne Ohmayer, when she was in Hospice Care. Her husband is moving into a retirement residence and hasn't room for this. So, we are being asked what we would like done with it.
This is the label on the back, which can't be removed. because we are very thorough!
I would like to propose that the quilt be donated to the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice in Kanata, to brighten a bed there. If everyone is okay with that, I will ask that it be sent there.
On to Show and Tell. I have nothing this week, because I've made 27 masks this and nobody wants to see more of my masks, I'm sure!
Diane Hart made a "Flipping Out" bag, with friends.
It stands, open, which would be useful at a retreat to hold scissors and a stitch ripper (we are going to have retreats, again!)
Liz has been having sewing lessons with her granddaughters, and they are excellent students.
Kaitlyn made a Firefly Tote and six new masks for school.
Here are her masks.
Adrianna made a Diva wallet.
Here are her masks.
Many of you will remember Maggie Ziehl, who was a member of Poole Creek when she lived in Kanata. Maggie now lives in Georgetown, and when I saw this quilt on her blog, I knew you would want to see it, too.
When the weather was so hot, she retreated to her basement and hand quilted it.
It is now washed and gifted to her son for his birthday, last week.
That is all for this week. Our next Show and Tell will be September 27.

How thoughtful that Joanne's husband contacted the Poole Creek Quilters about the future of his wife's quilt. I think donation to the Hospice is a wonderful idea.
I agree with Jan - thanks for taking care of this for us, Kate. Also, thanks for Show and Tell - you are doing a terrific job and it is so appreciated. Nancy
I also think your suggestion for the quilt's new home a good one !! Love all the projects.
Donating to the hospice is a good idea…does anyone remember which block they made…I’m looking at them all and none of them look familiar…maybe it was the backing that I donated
Kate you continue to be the glue that is keeping us all together at Poole Creek. Donating the quilt that was made for Joanne is an excellent idea. Thanks once again for your initiative.
I think that is a lovely idea, Kate.
So much enjoy your bi-monthly quilt postings.
Thank you for doing that.
